Cairo Hosts Global Fencing Showdown with World Cup Foil Event

Egypt is set to host the Foil Fencing World Cup for both men and women at the Cairo International Stadium Indoor Hall from April 16th to 19th.
The event attracting record participation from across the globe according to official figures, will feature 46 countries represented by around 394 fencers — 222 competing in the men’s events and 172 in the women’s.
The lineup features some of fencing’s powerhouse nations, including France, Italy, the United States, China, Japan, Germany, and Hungary, alongside a strong Arab presence from Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, the UAE, and Qatar—joining host nation Egypt. This edition of the tournament had previously been postponed by the International Fencing Federation, after it was initially scheduled for March.
With many of the world’s top-ranked fencers expected to compete, Cairo is set to become a battleground for elite-level matchups, offering high-quality competition, boosting the sport’s development locally, and giving Egyptian fencers a valuable chance to test themselves against the world’s best.
