Egypt’s Radi Ahmed Sets Record for Fastest Ascent of Mount Sinai

Egyptian athlete Radi Ahmed has set a new world record for the fastest ascent of Mount Sinai, which rises more than 2,200 metres above sea level. With this feat, Ahmed becomes the first person in the world to hold this record. In a post on Instagram, Ahmed confirmed that he has received official notification that his name has been added to the Guinness World Records database. He is currently awaiting the official certificate and medal, ahead of releasing a documentary film that will capture the details of the journey. According to Ahmed, accomplishing this feat was far from easy. The endeavor required a high level of preparation, training, and readiness, along with the use of specialized equipment. Ahmed extended thanks to his sponsors for their support and contribution to preparing for the challenge, and expressed his love and appreciation for his family and friends for their continuous encouragement, adding that their support played a major role in his success. Radi Ahmed first announced his attempt at this challenge on February 27th, 2026, with the world record achieved in less than two months.
