Madinaty Golf Club to Host Africa's First-Ever World Golf Awards
In an African first, Madinaty Golf Club hosts the 13th World Golf Awards on November 5th with the sport’s global stars.
In a first for Egypt and the African continent, Madinaty Golf Club is preparing to host the 13th edition of the World Golf Awards from November 5th to 7th, inviting some of the top names in the game and leading figures in golf tourism from around the world to Egypt.
The World Golf Awards is considered the world’s foremost authority for rating the best golf courses and destinations. Madinaty, in East Cairo, was chosen for its championship course, which was designed to the highest international standards. It was also chosen for its location in Cairo, where climate permits golf to be played year-round.
A member of Talaat Moustafa Group, it has won the title of Egypt’s Best Golf Course five times and Africa’s Best Golf Course for three consecutive years at the same awards.
The course was designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. and is managed and maintained by Troon, a global leader in golf course management. It has also become a prominent venue for major tournaments, having hosted high-level international and regional events, including the Asian Tour in 2022 and the Arab Championship in 2025 and 2026, as well as Asian Development Tour events and the MENA Tour series.
