Egypt's Hana Goda Makes History With Top-20 Table Tennis World Ranking
At 18, Hana Goda is now Egypt's, Africa's and the Arab world's highest-ever ranked women's table tennis player.
Eighteen-year-old Egyptian table tennis champion Hana Goda has made sports history after climbing to 20th place in the latest women's world rankings published by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). This achievement makes Goda the highest-ranked woman from Egypt, Africa, and the Arab world in the history of table tennis rankings. Her ascent into the top 20 follows a standout run at the ITTF World Cup, where she advanced to the quarter-finals. Her new ranking is the latest step in a career that has long shown promise. She claimed Egypt’s national title at a younger age than any player before her, and in 2019, Goda became the first African and Arab player to reach number one at the ITTF under-15 world ranking at age twelve.
